Quest Search & Selection is currently recruiting for a Head of Marketplace you will own the DE marketplace business, with full accountability for P&L performance and overall market success.
In this role you will define and execute the country strategy, drive growth across key commercial metrics, and lead cross-functional teams to deliver strong operational and financial results. This role requires a commercially driven leader with strong analytical skills and a proven ability to execute at pace.

The roles & responsibilities of this Head of Marketplace role:
- Define and execute the Germany Marketplace strategy, using data-driven insights to prioritise key categories and identify growth opportunities.
- Own the German Marketplace P&L, delivering revenue, margin, and free cash flow targets.
- Drive business performance by improving key input metrics, including product selection, price competitiveness, seller quality, and product availability.
- Lead, develop, and inspire a high-performing cross-functional team, setting high standards for hiring, performance management, and talent development.
- Establish and optimise business operating mechanisms, including weekly, monthly, and quarterly business reviews, to monitor performance, drive accountability, and support continuous improvement.
- Partner with global stakeholders to influence product and business roadmaps, secure resources, and remove operational or structural barriers to growth.
The qualifications of this Head of Marketplace role:
- Ideally having leadership experience within an marketplace or 3PL business, within eCommerce
- Ideally responsible for multiple categories or Country P&L.
- Strong knowledge of the European marketplace landscape and seller ecosystem.
- Highly analytical, with the ability to interpret complex data and translate insights into clear, actionable business decisions.
- Structured and results-driven, with excellent stakeholder management skills that can operative in a matrix operation.
- Demonstrated success in developing and managing long-term B2B relationships and cross-border partnerships.
- Fluent in both English and German (B2 level +)
